Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad will organize a unique hackathon for data engineers on April 8 & 9, 2017. The hackathon has been named as ‘Sentiment Analysis and Stock Performance'. IIM-A is organizing the hackathon in collaboration with IBM as a part of IIM-A’s 5th International Conference on Business Analytics and Advanced Data Analysis.
The conference will bring all the data engineers and professionals together and enable them to share ideas, case studies, knowledge and novel business applications in the area of Business Analytics. IIM-A has been organising this international conference since 2009.
Prof. Arnab Laha, Convener of the event, IIM-A, revealed that the conference in April 2017 would stimulate academicians, practitioners and students to connect theory with practice through hackathon. The international conference will play a significant role in boosting learning and research in the area of Business Analytics. The conference will help the participants to solve their real-life business problems.

Director of India Research Labs, IBM, Sriram Raghavan expressed that IBM is happy to be a part of the hackathon. The main objective of IBM is to drive business value. Therefore, the main focus would be on real-life problems in the area of Data Analysis and Business Analytics.
The conference will also lay emphasis on figuring out solutions to these problems. Raghavan further added that the hackathon would facilitate the collaboration between data engineers and students to share knowledge about the best in class tools.
