In order to motivate the students and encourage them to opt for a career in entrepreneurship, IIM Indore is planning to set up an incubation centre by July 2017.
Sharing the information, Akhtar Parvez, IIM Indore Media In-charge, said that they have planned to set up an incubation centre in their campus within seven to eight months. The new centre would help students to opt for the entrepreneurial route.

It was in March 2016, when the first batch of Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) passed out, Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director of IIM Indore had announced that the institute would open its own incubation centre. But he did not mention any timetable for that.
The incubation centre will help students to develop their business undertaking and make it a viable one. It will also identify the potential qualities of the entrepreneurs from the students. Besides that, the centre will also nurture the growth of entrepreneurs.
The centre is expected to offer different services like -
- Help build the management team
- Offer professional services at affordable costs
- Access to investors
- Find out space for office
- Strategic guidance
- A ready-made network of contacts
- Find out mentors
- Provide specialised training
It is also learnt that the institute is in conversation with some companies, who want to convert ideas of students into a business, interested in providing financial support to its students. The centre will enter into collaboration with big companies.

Ever since the Start-Up India mission has been launched, students from the elite premier institutes like IITs and IIMs are looking out to entrepreneurship as a career. Now, more and more students are interested in setting up their own venture because of the widespread opportunities.
