IIM Shillong held its convocation ceremony in which a total of 268 students graduated. Out of this, 252 PGP students and 16 PGPEx students were there.
After a hiatus of two years due to the global epidemic, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Shillong held its 13th commencement ceremony. This year, the foundation matriculated a total of 268 students. Qualifications were awarded to 252 PGP students and 16 PGPEx students, and two academics were awarded PhDs.
Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Founder and Chairman of Narayana Health, was the event's Chief Guest and conveyed the ceremony address. "The world in which or the world which was when you joined the IIM Shillong and the world how it is now when you are graduating are dramatically different," Dr. Shetty said in his convocation address. Because of the global pandemic, the lives of people have been changed drastically. If a scholar were to write the historical events hundred years from now, there would be 2 separate periods: BC, which is before covid, and AC, which is after covid. To succeed in life, contribute significantly, and to make the country a safer place to live, you must think differently." "Whatever you do in your life, remember that the power of your purpose is more important than all the other strategies combined," he continued. So, try to include a goal that will allow you to make the world a better place to live."

While commending the faculty and students, Shishir Kumar Bajoria, Chairman of the Board of Governors, said, "While working further on you and on your career goals, always remember the values, we have all realised during the ongoing times, the value of caring for each other." Sensitivity to human needs, community needs, and national needs. My message to you is to learn to give more than you receive. Despite the fact that the crisis presented several human-institutional challenges, we as a community grew stronger. India faced the pandemic in one of the best ways in the world, with our leaders ensuring that we kept our heads held high. Even when the pandemic was roaring all over the country, we could supply medicine and come to the rescue of many countries. All thanks to our leadership.”

Prof D.P. Goyal, Director, IIM, Shillong, stated at the ceremony, "Convocation is also an opportunity for us to share what we have accomplished during the year." Our foundation made substantial advancements. IIM Shillong's most highly anticipated moment was to be accommodated on our own university premises. Last year, IIM signed eight Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with renowned global institutions.
The institute authored 96 research articles in renowned global journals and presented several papers at international conferences. In his second note to the students, he said, "Today is a great day for you, and we want to express our congratulations on your success. We also want to thank you for your unprecedented dedication to success in the face of the pandemic. You have proven your worth. Your time at IIM Shillong must have provided you with a wealth of knowledge. You have demonstrated a high level of ethics. We are confident that these characteristics will produce not only great business managers but also leaders. We are extremely proud of you. Please keep pushing for success and growth in your professional endeavours. Do not lose sight of the values that we have instilled in you as you strive for success. Keep your curiosity and commitment to learning alive."
