Indian Institute of Management, Shillong recently organized a three-day summit where strategy and consulting experts highlighted how legacy businesses are being pushed by startups with an objective to reinvent themselves. The summit at IIM Shillong focused on making students understand how marketing is constantly evolving in sync with the needs of Indian youth. Key speakers also spoke about the benefits of sharing economy and indulging in experimentative methods in today's market. Others also highlighted the importance and dependence on digital marketing strategies and its increasing need.
Speakers from the human resource domain spoke about how HR management has evolved as a strategic partner from a mere supporting function of a business. They also covered topics like diversity and the need to increase automation in a business entity. Some panelists also shared views on the theme of - Rebuilding India with Billion Human Resources.

On the other hand, panelists from the operations background spoke about the behaviour of employees, suppliers and customers and its relevance in the executive decision-making process.
