IISc to Organize Online Exploration Sessions in Science and Mathematics for School Students

A team comprising of seven PhD graduates from the National University of Singapore and the Indian Institute of Science (Bangalore) will be offering online exploration sessions in Science and Mathematics from 11 May 2020 onwards. The exploration sessions will be completely free of cost for the students. The online interactive sessions will engage the students with simple explorations and observations by using the materials usually available at home.

The online sessions will be conducted by Seed2Sapling Education - an education startup and the founder Pankaj Jain is hopeful of providing the much-needed break to the students who have been confined within the four walls of their homes by the lockdown. He feels that instead of sticking to the mobile or television screen, the students can experience the joy of learning by joining the online learning session.

IISc has directed Seed2Sapling founder to conduct simple online exploration sessions only so that the students can do them on their own by using the materials that are available at their homes. Jain added that although the students do not have to pay a single buck for these sessions, in the earlier days of the lockdown, they were charging a minimal fee which was scrapped keeping in mind that many might not afford to pay for the sessions.

Until now the demo sessions have garnered good response from the student community. Three sessions have been planned to be conducted in the week, i.e on 11th May, 13th and 15th May between 16:00 HRS and 17:30 HRS for the 10-13-year-old age group. The link to join the sessions are as follows -
