Banaras Hindu University Technology department organizes its first alumni meet from December 30 to January 1. This would be the first ever alumni meet since it acquired the status of IIT in 2012. Its authorities are busy planning for the event and are making initiatives to invite ex students from across the globe and honor them.
For online registration of the meet, an alumni portal has been developed wherein the details of all former students will be stored for signing up to the meet. Online registrations for this grand meet has started from September 15.
“This would be a three day meet which will begin from December 30 and end on January 1 where over 1,000 ex students are expected to join this meet,” told Ashok Kumar, member secretary of the meet. “The tagline used for this Alumni meet is Reconnect. Reminisce. Celebrate!,” he added by informing that a tentative programme list has been planned out which includes interactive sessions and lectures by noted alumni members.
As per the online portal of the department, the features of the meet include campus tour with updates about recent infrastructure development, departmental visits and interaction with professors and faculties, exploring the holy city and a visit to Sarnath for reviving the city experience and a series of cultural programmes. The registration charges are Rs. 5,000 per visiting alumnus and Rs. 3,000 per accompanying person.
