• There are a total of 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in Section A, with 10 questions carrying a single mark and 20 carrying two.
• There are four possible answers for each MCQ, but there is only one that is accurate.
• Candidates may indicate their response by selecting one of the options. Negative points will be awarded for a false response.
• There will be a 1/3 mark deduction for each incorrect response on questions worth one mark, and a 2/3 mark deduction for each incorrect answer on questions worth two marks.

In the forenoon session, Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG), and Mathematics (MA) papers will be conducted. IIT JAM 2023 forenoon session commences at 09: 30 am and winds up at 12: 30 pm. Candidates who are going to appear for these papers, must report early to the examination centres.
