IIT Kanpur is all set to host the 51st year of ‘Antaragni’ its annual cultural fest. Last year, the 50th Antaragni was hosted by IIT-Kanpur and was seen as a grand success with loads of colours and youthful energy. The dates for this year’s fest are: October 20 to October 24.
It has been estimated that students from almost 50 colleges from across the country will be participating in the fest. Some of the key highlights of Antaragni are:
- Performances by rock band
- Kavi sammelans (poem reading)
- Dance workshop
- Singing competitions
- Online photography competition
Other fun games and events that will keep the people engaged throughout the fest are:
- Sumo wrestling
- Bull ride
Students participating in the fest will also be given a chance to learn two more dance forms: Jazz Funk and Urban Style. Renowned choreographer, Himanshu Kataria will be conducting the dance workshops for the students beginning October 22.
To keep the research scholars and staff members engaged and entertained, a Kavi sammelan will be organised, in which they can sit together and come up with new writings. According to the media and publicity head of 'Antaragni', Yogita Kuchanka, the event will be organised in such a manner that it will revive the lost magic of contemporary poetry. Also, many top poets will be performing on the stage at Antaragni. Not only this, what's new is the anchor hunt competition organised by Antaragni. For those looking for fun, informal events at Antaragni will be perfect.
