IIT Kharagpur Alumnus in World’s Top 50 Thinkers

The Thinkers50, a global ranking for management thinkers has ranked Subir Chowdhury, the quality guru among world’s top 50 for the year 2017. The ranking is published every two years and is a guide to which ideas and thinkers matter the most now.

Subir Chowdhury is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Kharagpur) and is also the Chairman & CEO of ASI Consulting Group, LLC. He is also the author of a total of 15 books and his book The Difference: When Good Enough Isn’t Enough (Crown Business 2017), is a national bestseller in India and made it to the USA Today bestseller list also.

He founded the Subir Chowdhury School of Quality and Reliability at IIT Kharagpur, through the Subir and Malini Chowdhury Foundation. The school is one of its kind in Asia, for all IIT students who further desire for professional and academic training in the field of quality assurance. Modules on reliability and quality are designed for engineering processes and how do they impact the environment and life.

Subir has also launched an app -Subir Chowdhury: Quality is Everyone’s Business which is available on both iOS and Android platforms. The app helps to promote knowledge and understanding of how low graded quality effects all levels of businesses, functions, and public policy.

Born in Bangladesh Subir has an undergraduate degree in Aeronautical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and also has a graduate degree in Industrial Management from Central Michigan University. His Foundation is a non-profit initiative whose main aim is to promote understanding of quality mindset.
