IIT Madras, which has maintained the top spot in the NIRF rankings for five consecutive years, aims to promote inclusive education through its financial aid programmes. For the 2025 academic session, the institute is offering two major scholarships for students whose family income does not exceed ₹4.5 lakh per year:
Institute Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship

Both schemes will cover 65% of the tuition fees for 25% of admitted students. To continue receiving the benefit, students must maintain a minimum GPA of 5.0 each semester. If the GPA falls below this level, the scholarship will be discontinued.
