Indian Healthcare Industry to Employ Millions by 2020

India is expected to rank amongst the top three healthcare markets in terms of incremental growth. Indian health care industry expected to generate 40 million jobs by 2020.

Mr. D V Sadananda Gowda, the Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers has said that the Healthcare Industry of India which is the largest economic sector in the country, will create about 40 million jobs by 2020.

Mr. Gowda informed that Healthcare is India’s largest economic sector with regard to revenue and employment both. A threefold rise is expected for the Indian healthcare sector with CAGR 22% growth between 2016 to 2022. Where the total evaluation was 110 Billion USD in 2011, it is expected to touch 372 Billion USD in 2022.

The Minister informed about the same while he was addressing a gathering after he inaugurated the Annual Health Conference -Pharma Med HD 2019 Transforming the perception of Indian Health Care Industry.

He further informed that there is a lot of scope to enhance healthcare services in India. Therefore, there is an ample opportunity for the development of the healthcare sector in India.

Hailing the Indian Healthcare sector as one of the most professional and knowledgable industries in the world, Mr. Gowda said that it will create 40 Million jobs by next year. The jobs will be created for Medical Students, Nurses, Laboratory Assistants, Pharmacy Graduates and all the allied professions of Healthcare.

Indian is a pioneer and the largest exporter of pharmaceuticals and Indian hospitals are one of the most efficient healthcare delivery systems. India is home to some of the best doctors and nursing services.

The minister informed that though India is an importer of medical equipment, now the Indian companies have come forward to manufacture high-quality medical equipments as well. The minister also added that 50% of the total demand for vaccines are supplied by Indian pharmaceutical companies which include 40% generic demand in the United States and 25% of all medicines in the United Kingdom.

This is great news as more job opportunities will be available both in city and rural areas.
