The Andhra Pradesh Intermediate ‘Open Examinations” conducted by Andhra Pradesh Open Schools Society commence at Vijayawada on 6-April-2016. A total number of 904 students applied for the examination and 800 students appeared for the examination.
Convener of Open Examinations, D.Ravi Kumar mentioned, “The examination is conducted in 10 centers of Vijayawada. Stringent measures are taken to avoid malpractices in the examination. 2 students were debarred on the first day of examination who resorted to malpractice”.
Even though the board took measures to avoid malpractices, these measures are not being carried out properly. The officials of board inspect the examination centers on the first and last day of examinations. Rest of the days nobody cares about the examination centers. Taking this as an advantage most of the examination centers in Vijayawada and Guntur collects money from the students and gives them the study materials to write from. This happens every year but nobody cares. The open examination is more like an open book examination.
No specific qualification is necessary to write these open examinations . One can apply directly for 10th, Inter, and Degree. So these examinations are not being conducted in a stringent manner like Intermediate regular examinations. The officials need to take strict measures to improve the standards by conducting examination strictly.
