On Saturday, August 31, 2019, MeitY, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology partnered with Google on Build For Digital India program. This program will act as a platform for the engineering students to develop technology-based solutions apt for the market which address the key social problems.
About “Build for Digital India” Programme
The ‘Build For Digital India’ is all about providing engineering students a platform to share their ideas related to sectors such as healthcare, education, environment, women safety, digital literacy, agriculture, smart transportation and mobility, smart cities and infrastructure, accessibility and disability. This program is for all the engineering students across the country, they can apply for this program where they will learn to change their ideas to real solutions.
Through the medium of Build for Digital India applicants will get an opportunity to learn about the latest technologies such as Cloud and Android, Machine Learning.
Mentorship sessions will be offered by Google in strategy, product design, and technology to the best prototypes and products.

Ravi Shankar Prasad, IT Minister said that he believes this program will bring out the best and innovative side of the students across PAN India and will also produce solutions for the major social challenges of India.
Vice President of Government Affairs and Public Policy at Google, Karan Bhatia said that the new technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning will help to solve the most difficult social challenges of India. He also added that this will help in grooming the budding engineers and enhance their skills and knowledge.
