JEE Main 2026 Maths Last Minute Strategy by Ashish Sir
In the last days of preparation, rather than beginning new chapters, students should focus on high-weightage and conceptually stable subjects. Prioritising calculus is essential, particularly in areas where it is consistently used, such as limits, continuity and differentiability, definitive integrals, area under curves, and differential equations. Matrix, quadratic equation, complex number, and probability are some of the algebraic subjects that get high scores. For problems that fetch marks directly, you should also review Coordinate Geometry and Vectors & 3D Geometry extensively.

10 15 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
Will JEE Main 2026 Admit Card be Released today on March 30?
As per the previous years' trends, authorities do not release admit cards or results on Sunday, and March 30 being a weekend, there is a very low probability of the admit card being released today. However, NTA always surprises us with their action, so as the exam is near, we can expect the admit card after 5 PM or tomorrow morning.
10 00 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
April 6, 7, and 8 exam candidates — your admit card comes separately, around April 1
NTA uses a technique called "batch release." The first set, which includes April 2, 4, and 5, should arrive today or tomorrow. If your test is on April 6, 7, or 8, don't stress if it doesn't show up tonight. From what we know about Session 1, your admit card should get to you by April 1. You still have a few days, so use them to get ready.
09 18 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
No official time announced by NTA
NTA hasn't sent out any information on when the admit card will be available. Any post or channel that says "admit card releasing at 9 PM sharp" or any other specific time is either guessing or trying to get people to interact. The only way to be sure is to continuously monitor jeemain.nta.nic.in.
09 00 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
Current Electricity — 2 to 3 questions confirmed every single session
Current Electricity has never missed a JEE Main session from 2020 to 2025. The most common challenges include Kirchhoff's rules, the Wheatstone bridge, the potentiometer, and internal resistance. There aren't many theory questions in this chapter; most of them are numerical. Today, go over the formulas again and do at least five mixed numbers.
08 25 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
Admit card still not live as of midnight — NTA expected to drop it any time now
The JEE Main 2026 Session 2 admit card has not yet shown up on jeemain.nta.nic.in, even though it is past midnight. This isn't strange. NTA sent out admit cards late at night during Session 1 without giving anyone a heads-up. Open the official webpage in a new tab and refresh it every 15 to 20 minutes. Don't refresh your browser too often, or it can start to show issues.
08 00 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
Take one full mock test before your exam date to calibrate timing
Do a timed mock test immediately if you haven't done one in the last two weeks. Not to get better grades, but to help your brain remember the time limit, the interface, and the pace of a three-hour paper. Look at it for a moment and think about the kinds of mistakes you made, not the score.
07 00 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
Do not start any new chapter or topic from today — revision only
You really want to read one more chapter, but it will pain you. The new things you learn in the last three days don't usually stick well enough to help you on the test, and they take up space in your mind that you could use to remember what you already know. Have faith in what you have made. Not find, but revise.
06 30 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
Semiconductors is a short chapter with easy marks if you revise theory once
This whole chapter may be reviewed in 45 minutes. It covers things like the PN junction diode, forward and reverse bias, the Zener diode, the LED, and logic gates using truth tables. Most of the time, the questions here are about ideas or definitions, not numbers. You only need to make one good edit to be sure you can answer this question.
06 00 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
Accuracy Over Speed — Chasing all 90 Questions is a Losing Strategy
Most students who get 200 or more points don't finish the whole paper. They are getting 55 to 65 questions right most of the time. If you try 80 questions and get 60% of them right, you will get a lower score than if you try 60 questions and get 90% of them right. Choose wisely and stick with your choice.
05 00 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
Section B Numerical Questions Have Zero Negative Marking
This is one of the best things of JEE Main that people don't use enough. In Section B, you have to enter in a number between 0 and 9 as your answer. There is no marking down here at all. Even if you're not sure, give it your best guess. Do not leave these blank.
04 30 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
Rotational Motion — memorise the MOI formulas for all standard bodies right now
You should be able to quickly find the moment of inertia for a disc, ring, rod, solid sphere, or hollow sphere. People also often test theorems about parallel and perpendicular axes. It is usually always good to know about the conservation of angular momentum for at least one question. Don't try to figure out MOI during the test; simply remember and use it.
04 00 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
Scan the entire paper in the first 10 to 15 minutes before attempting anything
Don't start with Question 1 right away when the test starts. Spend the first 10 to 15 minutes going through the whole paper, marking the simple questions and the hard ones. If you solve the problems in order of difficulty instead of question number, you can get 10 to 15 more points on your final score.
03 30 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
Ray Optics is predictable and scoring — do not ignore it in your last revision
The lens formula, the mirror formula, the power of a lens combination, and total internal reflection come up in practically every session. Once you make a ray diagram or set up the formula correctly, the questions are usually easy. We constantly test the lensmaker's equation and the link between the refractive index and the critical angle.
02 30 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
Thermodynamics — PV diagrams and process identification are the real challenge
Most of the time, questions show you a PV diagram and ask you to figure out the process, the work done, or the efficiency. The two most common areas that are assessed are the Carnot cycle efficiency formula and the first law as they apply to certain processes. If you know how to read a PV diagram, you should be able to answer most thermodynamics questions without too much trouble.
02 00 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
Shift 1 starts at 9 AM — reporting usually closes by 8:30 AM
The first shift starts at 9 AM and usually ends around 12 PM. Around 8:30 AM, most centers close their gates. You should get to your center by 8:00 or 8:15 AM at the latest. Around 2:30 PM, the gates close for shift 2, which starts at 3 PM and concludes around 6 PM.
01 30 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
Electrostatics — Gauss Law application and electric potential numericals are the focus
Gauss's Law for spherical, cylindrical, and infinite planar charge distributions provides direct numerical inquiries. There are also a lot of questions about electric potential and potential energy that have to do with more than one charge. The dipole in a uniform field idea is another good place to find questions. Don't ignore Gauss Law applications because you believe they're hard; they're really based on formulas.
01 00 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
Visit the Exam Centre Once Before Exam Day
If your center is at a place you don't know, try it out today or tomorrow. Check the route, how long it will take to get there, and where to park if you need to. On the day of the test, getting there 30 minutes early seems significantly different from getting there in a hurry after taking a wrong route.
12 17 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
Modern Physics — one of the easiest chapters to score in if PYQs are done
The photoelectric effect, Bohr's atomic model, de Broglie wavelength, and radioactive decay all follow very predictable patterns. If you look at the last five years of JEE Main Modern Physics questions, you'll see that the same kinds of calculations keep coming up, albeit with different numbers. This is a place where you can get free points.
12 05 AM IST - 29 Mar'26
Do not bring your phone to the JEE Main exam centre
At the JEE Main 2026 exam centers, you can't bring your phone at all. This includes Bluetooth earphones, smartwatches, and calculators. Don't think that the security officer will hold it for you; many centres don't have safe places to store things. You can leave your device at home or in your car.
11 45 PM IST - 28 Mar'26
Keep your admit card even after the exam — you will need it during counselling
You can use your JEE Main admit card more than just on the day of the test. You will need them as proof during JoSAA counselling and seat allocation. retain a digital copy on your phone and Google Drive, and make sure to retain at least one decent hardcopy at home in a safe place.
11 20 PM IST - 28 Mar'26
Black and white printout is perfectly fine — you do not need colour
NTA will accept both color and black-and-white printouts of the admit card. The most important thing is that the picture, signature, barcode, and all of the text are easy to see. A fuzzy black and white print can cause problems while checking, so make sure the print quality is good.
10 55 PM IST - 28 Mar'26
Error on your admit card? Call NTA before 5 PM on working days
If your name, date of birth, gender, or category don't match up after you download, call NTA right away. You can reach the helpdesk at 011-40759000 from 10 AM to 5 PM on business days. You can also send your application number and accompanying materials to jeemain@nta.ac.in.
10 30 PM IST - 28 Mar'26
Signature on the self-declaration form — do it at the centre, not at home
People often make this error. You need to sign the self-declaration form on Page 1 using your left-hand thumbprint, but you have to do it in front of the invigilator at the exam center. You might still have to sign it at home if you do it there first.
10 00 PM IST - 28 Mar'26
Photo on the admit card paste the same one you uploaded during registration
Before you get to the test center, you need to physically attach a passport-sized photo to the admit card. The picture you upload should be the same as the one you sent in with your form. Don't try to use a different picture; the person in charge checks your identity right away.
09 38 PM IST - 28 Mar'26
Your admit card is four pages — do not just print page one and stop
There are four pages in the JEE Main admission card. The first page is the self-declaration form, which has a place for your photo and information. Instructions for the day of the exam are on page 2. There are critical warnings on page 3. Page 4 is a declaration for candidates who did not register with Aadhaar. Print all four pages.
09 05 PM IST - 28 Mar'26
What to do if you forgot your application number?
Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in and look for the "Forgot Application Number" link on the login page. Then, type in your name, date of birth, and email address that you used to sign up. Your application number will be sent to your email and phone by NTA. Don't wait till morning to solve this. Do it tonight.
08 45 PM IST - 28 Mar'26
Site going slow? That is completely normal during admit card season
As soon as admit cards are available, the NTA portal gets a lot of traffic. If you observe mistakes or things that take a long time to load, wait 5 to 10 minutes and try again. If your mobile device isn't working, go to a laptop. You can also use Chrome's incognito mode and delete your browser cache. The problem goes away on its own quite shortly.
08 30 PM IST - 28 Mar'26
Admit card for April 6, 7, 8 — expect it around April 1 or 2
NTA is sending out admit cards in groups. Based on the Session 1 trend, your hall ticket might come out on April 1 or 2 if your test is on April 6, 7, or 8. Don't worry if your card doesn't show up today; it doesn't indicate that something went wrong.
08 01 PM IST - 28 Mar'26
March 28 is the expected date — but NTA hasn't officially confirmed a time
Several coaching platforms and education news sites agree that March 28 is the most likely release date, especially for exams on April 2, 4, and 5. NTA has not, however, said when the release will happen. In the past, these decreases have happened between 8 PM and 2 AM.
07 55 PM IST - 28 Mar'26
Admit card still not live — NTA likely to drop it late tonight
The JEE Main 2026 Session 2 admit card has not been released yet. NTA has a long history of pushing these things back till late at night. Keep the tab open at jeemain.nta.nic.in and refresh it every 20 to 30 minutes to check the admit card status.

Wave Optics — YDSE fringe width formula and coherence are the two main areas
Young's Double Slit Experiment shows up in almost every shift. The most essential equation here is the fringe width formula (beta = lambda times D divided by d). Questions also test what occurs when you cover one slit, modify the medium, or move the source. Sometimes, single slit diffraction shows up also.
