JNTUK B.Tech Student Develops Brainwave Interface

Ishak Shaik, B.Tech student from the Computer Science and Engineering Department of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University has been able to develop a one-of-a-kind brainwave interface. The wearer of the device will be able to control and undertake various activities with his/her thoughts.

A student pursuing his undergraduate engineering programme, i.e. B.Tech, from the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada, Ishak Shaik, has been able to develop a brainwave interface, which is a unique innovation that has bee undertaken by a student. From the Computer Science and Engineering Department of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada, Ishak Shaik has developed the said innovation which will help in operating various technological advanced things just with the thoughts of the person wearing the device.

The device functions on an Artificial Intelligence platform and is able to use brainwave authentication to carry out different functions and actions. There are three innovations for which Ishak Shaik took everyone by surprise. The first, a person will be able to unlock the device with merely his/her thoughts. The second innovation will work as a device for providing safety for any threats that can cause anxiety to a person, while the third innovation involves providing an automated wheelchair, which works with the thoughts of the differently-abled person using the device.

The Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Prof M Ramalinga Raju had congratulated and applauded Ishak for his efforts and ideas that he had put into developing such an exceptional innovation which will not only bring a profound change in the ways technology can work but also provide the necessary social change as well.

Sources state that efforts had been put in by the President of MHRD Institute of Innovation Council, Prof L Summatha to boost the research activities that had been undertaken by Ishak Shaik. They further stated that Prof Summatha also motivated the student to win various prizes.
