The registrations for JoSAA 2017 have begun on June 15, 2017. The candidates who qualified in JEE Mains 2017 and JEE Advanced 2017 can start registering for joint seat allotment. Only the registered candidates will have a chance to get admission in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology), IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology) and GFTIs (Government-Funded Technical Institutes). A total number of 97 institutes are participating in JoSAA 2017. After registration, the candidates must fill the choice. It is advisable for the candidates to fill as many as options. The seat allotment is based on JEE Main 2017/ JEE Advanced 2017 merit, preferred course and institute.

The applicants must note an important thing that they can use their JEE Main Roll Number as the registration number. If the candidates qualified in JEE Advanced 2017, they must use JEE Advanced 2017 password. Others can use JEE Main 2017 password to complete the registration process. The candidates can change the process after logging in to the official portal of JoSAA. The official website of JoSAA is facilitating online registrations. Neither the official website of JEE Main nor JEE Advanced facilitates online registration for JoSAA.

JoSAA will have two rounds of mock allotment and seven rounds of counselling.
