Karnataka Govt. Hikes Engineering Fees by 10%

After conducting a series of meetings with the private engineering colleges, the state government of Karnataka has decided to hike the fees for engineering courses by 10%. The state government has increased the fees of government quota seats. College managements are free to fix fees for management quota seats. The state government on July 05, 2018, released an official notification with regard to engineering fee hike under government quota.

Since there was no consensus on engineering fees under government quota, the counselling process for the admission to engineering courses in Karnataka was delayed. Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) did not receive seat matrix of engineering courses in different colleges. The authorities of private engineering colleges refused to disclose the seat matrix until the state government sorted out their demand for the fee hike.
