KCET 2020 to be Conducted On July 30 & 31, High Court Approves Government’s Decision

Karnataka High Court approved the Government's decision to conduct the KCET 2020 exam on July 30 & 31, 2020. The Hall Ticket will act as a pass for students coming from containment zones. Transport facilities will be provided.

After 4 hour long arguments between Karnataka High Court and State Government, it was decided that the KCET 2020 will be conducted as per the schedule. The exam will be conducted on July 30, 31 & August 01, 2020. The High Court asked the government whether it could provide transport facility to students, and the government is ready to provide transport facilities for students. The Hall Ticket will serve as the passes for the students coming from containment zones.

Highlights of Karnataka High Court Decision on KCET 2020

Here are some of the major highlights of Karnataka High Court decision on KCET 2020 -

The state government should inform the Police Department that no student should be prevented from attending the exam.Students coming from containing zones can show the hall ticket to police, which will act as a Pass.
Transport facilities should be provided for students.Ambulance facility should be provided for Covid-19 students.
Covid-19 students who do not have a medical certificate should be allowed to write the exam. -

The state government will also inform the Police Department to not stop any student attending the KCET 2020 exam. The students must show the hall ticket.

After a lot of suspense, the High Court approved the government’s decision to go ahead with the entrance exam. NSUI filed a petition to postpone the exam. However, the court indicated that it has the authority to look for decision making but can’t make the final decision. The state government can conduct the exam.

The state government also submitted that it would provide Ambulance facility for the Covid-19 affected students.

Students attending the KCET exam 2020 will have to take all safety measures such as wearing a mask, carrying a small sanitizer bottle, maintaining social distance etc. The candidates will have to co-operate with the government and exam centre authorities.

With the High Court approving the government’s decision, Karnataka will be the second state in India to hold a state-level engineering entrance exam after Kerala.
