- A CBSE Class 10 student in Kerala received two-year-old Maths question paper.
- The student approached High Court of Kerala seeking re-exam.
Earlier this week, the High Court of Kerala has directed the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to conduct Class 10 Maths re-test for a student. A girl student of Mount Carmel School in Kottayam received two-year-old question paper on the day of CBSE Class 10 maths exam on March 28, 2018. After finding out that she received old question paper, she informed school authorities and also approached CBSE Regional Office. Later, she decided to approach High Court after she failed to get any response from the CBSE Regional Office.

The court further directed the CBSE to conduct re-examination for Amiya Salim before the completion of the evaluation process of answer sheets. The court also ordered an internal enquiry to find out the reasons for the question paper mix-up.
Amiya Salim revealed that she was shocked after seeing the question paper. It was the same question paper that her brother Altaf Salim attempted two years ago. However, the school authorities directed her to attempt the question paper. After the exam, her teachers also confirmed that it was an old question paper, she explained.

She further urged the CSBE to explain how this mix-up happened. The board should not take students for granted, she stated.
On the other hand, the CBSE Regional Office, Tiruvanthapuram refused to comment on the issue.
Last week, CBSE confirmed that there would be no re-exam for CBSE Class 10 students in Mathematics subject across the country.
