L N Mithila University has witnessed an increase in the number of applications that have been received by them for 2019 admissions. Majority of the students have opted for programmes under the Arts stream with BA History being the popular option, followed by Science and Commerce.
L N Mithila University of Bihar has seen the highest number of student application this year in total. As of this date, sources state that the University has seen 1.77 lakh students applied under the programmes offered by them for the batch of 2019-22 batch. In respect to last year, the applications that have been received by the college this year is 57,000 more than last year.
The total number of seats that are offered by L N Mithila University including all the degree programmes is 2.50 lakh. The number of seats is spread across all the 72 constituent and/or affiliated colleges in the four districts, viz. Begusarai, Darbhanga, Madhubani and Samastipur.
L N Mithila University offers programmes in the fields of Arts, Commerce as well as Science. This year, the University has witnessed a large number of the students applying for the programmes under the field of Arts followed by Science and Commerce respectively. One of the most popular undergraduate programmes that have been the choice for most of the applicants has been BA History. A total of 36,000 applications had been received for the course at the University. BA in Geography and BA in Hindi come second and third respectively in the number of applications received this year for admission.

In a statement made by Prof Ratan Kumar Choudhary, the Dean of Students Welfare (DSW) at LNMU, says that a majority of the students had opted for LNMU through the Online Facilitation System for Students or also known as OFSS. The University had also seen a good result last year as well because of the facility that is offered by the Bihar School Examination Board.

The application process for LNMU had begun on 30th April 2019. The application process is set to end between 25th and 30th May 2019 as decided by the Vice-Chancellor of LNMU Prof S K Singh, after noticing the increase in the number of applicants pouring in for this year’s admission process, stated Prof Ratan Kumar.
