LU Plans to Re-introduce the Entrance Test For UG Admission
Lucknow University is planning to reintroduce the entrance test for the undergraduate admission this year. This was a key decision taken at the administrative council meeting held at Lucknow University on April 2.
According to spokesperson NK Pandey the entrance test for undergraduate admission was last held in 2006. The admission committee had unanimously decided that the UG admissions would be done on the basis of the test. This was being done because the admissions to the university get delayed while results of various boards are being declared. Admission will be given only on the merit of the test.
Students will be given objective type 100 questions in the test. Answers will be marked on OMR sheet. Students will have the facility to take away carbon copy of the OMR sheet. The key to questions will be displayed on university website in the evening or the next day of the test date.
Tests will be conducted for Arts, Science (Biology and Mathematics streams separately), Commerce, Law and Fine Arts. The tests will likely to be conducted sometime in May last week. The undergraduate admissions were likely to be completed by June 30 so that classes could start on time.
Identity cards will be provided to students at the time of admission only. Admission of zero fees eligible SC/ST candidates will be confirmed only if the scholarship forms are filled up by the candidates.
The cost of admission forms will be UG GEN/OBC- Rs800, SC/ST-Rs400, PG GEN/OBC-Rs1000, SC/ST-Rs 500, PhD GEN/OBC-Rs1,200, SC/ST-Rs600. An admission office for regular functioning will be set up in the DSW office and arrangement will be made by DSW for the preadmission.
