A central placement website has been launched by the West Bengal based Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) with an objective to assist students in finding job opportunities and at the same time provide training programmes.
The Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) has recently launched a central placement website that will assist engineering students to find relevant jobs and also join training programmes as per their interests and requirement.
The central placement website of the University will contain student details such as the updated resume, expertise in the relative domain, scores/ results in the semester examination, training and internships attended by the students, special skill, any specific certifications, year of study, discipline/ specialization etc.
While elaborating on the benefits and highlights of the MAKAUT central placement website, Saikat Maitra, Vice-Chancellor of the university said that many small and medium scale enterprises who are unable to attend placement sessions because of fund crunch will be able to employ students through the website. The SMEs can directly approach the students through the website and roll out job offers to them. He further informed that the colleges will provide the database and the formatting will be done by the university. The database will have the details of over 34,000 students.

The University is also planning to involve the Chambers of Commerce in this initiative so that training sessions can also be provided through the MAKAUT central placement website.

Education Minister of the state, Partha Chatterjee inaugurated the website on 29th June 2018. He congratulated the university for its efforts and was hopeful that students will be benefitted through the website and will be able to grab good career opportunities to progress in life.
