Compartment exam results for class X and XII were announced on Thursday, December 22, 2016. The results indicate a successful clean-up since the topper scam was exposed. The pass percentage for class 10th exam has dipped in 2016. The pass percentage of 2015 was 69.54% which has fallen down to 27.59% this year.
Strict correction measures have been introduced by officials to minimize corrupt and illegal practices. Methods like digital evaluation and introducing barcodes in the answer sheets have been credited for the dip in the pass percentage.
After the topper scam, the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) had been strictly watched and scrutinized to prevent irregularities in the evaluation of result. The board has announced that it has now evolved a highly accurate form of the evaluation system.
Anand Kishor, Chairman, BSEB, informed that the students who have cleared the compartment exams can check their respective mark sheets online. It has now claimed to have introduced “almost foolproof’’ online verification system of mark-sheets.
Officials also informed that the online mark-sheets have been embedded with security features such as M Sign or QR Code. These features have been implemented for quick verification of the certificates.
Provisional and original mark sheets have been issued to candidates who have registered their Aadhar numbers at BSEB. On the basis of these Aadhar numbers, the Board will maintain a database of students that will come with e-lockers facilities, informed Rajeev Ranjan Dwivedi, BSEB spokesman.
