Mumbai University Postpones all ExamsMumbai University Postpones All Exams: Due to heavy rain, the University of Mumbai has postponed all the exams (Summer 2025 and Winter 2025) scheduled for today, August 20, 2025. For the same reason, the Head of the University Departments has cancelled the exams conducted in Raatnagiri, Kalyan, and Thane Sub-centre for 20th August. Soon, the revised dates of the examinations will be announced on the official website.
Already, the authority has revised the 19th August Mumbai University exam date, which will be held on August 23, 2025, at the same time. Based on this, it can be assumed that the 20th August exams will likely be held either on August 25 or later (since 24th August is a Sunday).
As per the official statement, due to the heavy rainfall alert and to avoid inconveniences to the test takers, the Mumbai University has postponed all the exams. The affected exams include several undergraduate and postgraduate courses, which include Master of Arts in Communication Journalism (Semester 3), Public Relations (Semester 3), Television Studies (Semester 3), Electronic Media (Semester 3), Film Studies (Semester 3), and M.P.Ed. (Semester 2), B.P.Ed. (Semester 2), B.Pharm. (Semester 2), M.Pharm. (Semester 2), M.Ed. (Semester 2), M.Com. (E-commerce, Semester 4), M.A. (CDOE), B.E. (Computer Science & Design, Automation and Robotics), and others. For the sake of the safety of the students, the authority has postponed the exams, so that they will not face any difficulty to reach to the exam centres.
Apart from the Mumbai University exams, all the schools under private and unaided institutions are also closed. The schools of Thane, Bhiwandi, and Palghar districts will remain closed today. In this regard, the civic authorities have issued an official notice for the respective jurisdictions.
