NAAC has awarded A+ grade to the University of Jammu, an autonomous organization founded by the UGC. The university had volunteered for NAAC accreditation and was assessed for the third time i.e. Cycle III.
Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Director of Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance, informed that the university has been analyzed by NAAC and has been awarded the deserved grade with CGPA of 3.51. The varsity will now be counted amongst the elite group of A+ institutions.
The university was assessed by a Peer Team of eminent academicians and prominent administrators of the field.
The verification and analysis of the University of Jammu was done by the NAAC Peer Team from September 27-30. The team also went through the self-study report submitted by the university and validated it.
A standing committee of the Executive Council of NAAC was held in Bangalore and the University of Jammu was awarded A+ grade (Cycle III 2009-2016), listing the varsity in the elite group of A+ Institutions.
The university celebrated the success at a gathering organized near the Fountain Plaza where the students, faculty members, scholars and other staff members had gathered.
Dr. Kilam said that this would not have been possible without the cooperation of all those who are part of the university and expressed gratitude to every member of the University for their never-ending commitment and support.
This success would not have been possible without the personal and regular monitoring of NAAC Assessment process that was constantly done by Prof. R D Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of the university, added Kilam.
