Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) has received applications from 20 colleges seeking approval for offering Hotel Management courses at the UG level. Recently, TSCHE invited applications for the same and was expecting around 10 applications, but 20 colleges have sought interest in offering these courses. Hotel Management courses have good demand in the job market, and considering the same, 20 colleges have submitted the application for approval.
At present, only 26 colleges across Telangana have been offering a course in Hotel Management, i.e., three-year BHM (Bachelor’s in Hotel Management). If approval is given for 20 new colleges, the number may go up to 46, and more aspirants will get a chance to take admission in BHM instead of going to other states for the same.
Apart from Hyderabad, TSCHE received applications from Suryapeta, Khammam etc. According to sources, 150 seats in BHM course may be approved for each college as per university norms.
TSCHE will soon constitute a team for inspecting the applicant colleges. Once the inspection is done, approval will be granted. The applicant institutes should satisfy all the AICTE norms that are necessary to run Hotel Management courses.
