National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal is planning to conduct a two-day national conference on the theme - 'Evolution of World-Class Technical Institutions - Issues & Concerns from 10th-12th October 2018.
NIT Warangal will be completing its 60 glorious years of existence in the education sector on 10th October 2018, following which it has planned to conduct a series of national and international conferences, lecture sessions by renowned experts from abroad, academic enhancement programs for the next one year until October 2019.
Vice President Mr. Venkaiah Naidu will be inaugurating the commencement of NIT Warangal Diamond Jubilee celebrations on 8th October 2018. In continuation of the inaugural session, the above-mentioned national conference has been planned by the institute which will focus on key areas like the ranking of higher education institutes, technical education policy, teaching-learning process, accreditation of programmes, research and innovation in technical education etc.

It is interesting to note that the first Prime Minister of India Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru laid the foundation stone for NIT Warangal on 10th October 1959, which has now become one of the leading higher education institutes in the country. Earlier, NIT Warangal was called as the Region Engineering College and was declared as an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament. It was renamed to NIT Warangal in the year 2004.

Year after year, students from across the country seek admission in undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered at NIT Warangal. The institute is also able to attract a large number of international students from as many as about 40 countries. The institute is also a key performer in the Global Initiative for Academic Network, also known as GIAN.
