A total number of 26 B.Tech graduates from Siksha ‘O’ Anusandan (SOA) University were shocked after they went to join in a company. These students bagged jobs in campus placements. They were very happy that they secured a job, and curiously went to the company to take off on a new journey. However, the job offers made by the company turned out to be fake, and students were left shocked.
According to sources, these students received offer letters from a company named ‘Huawei’. However, the company claimed that it never visited SOA University for recruiting the students. The dreams of the students were shattered with the statement made by the company. One of the students expressed that he was super excited when he received the offer letter. But now, he was feeling so embarrassed after being cheated.

Later, students and parents visited the university and contacted the officials. The authorities of the varsity crosschecked with the various companies and came to know that around 100 students of the varsity received fake employment offers from various companies. According to the varsity, the following companies had visited the companies for recruiting the students: -
- Intel
- Magneti Marelli Supertech
- Toshiba
- Honeywell
- Mitsubishi Electric
- Scheider Electric
- Ircon Constriction
- Huawei
The people who visited the varsity for recruiting the students on behalf of these companies had no connection with the actual companies, and the offers made by them were fake. Not only the students but in this case, the university was cheated.

One of the officials of the varsity revealed that they had contacted a consultancy firm to conduct campus placements. However, the consultancy firm made false job offers on behalf of these companies. The firm also charged consultancy fee from the varsity, he added.
The authorities revealed that they would lodge a FIR against the consultancy firm. The varsity also assured the students that it would provide a stipend of Rs. 20,000 for the students, and engage them as teaching assistants until they get a job.
On the other hand, the varsity also mentioned that it would bear the entire course fee if any student wants to pursue M.Tech. The varsity will also waive the first year fee if any student wants to pursue MBA.
SOA University is accredited with ‘A’ grade from NAAC, and it also bagged 20th rank in the NIRF Rankings 2017.
