On November 2, 2017, the government of Odisha signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ITE Education Services (Singapore) with an objective to promote skill development in the state. The OSDA (Odisha Skill Development Authority) and ITE Education Services inked the MoU for transforming the skill development ecosystem in Odisha.
Chief Minister of Odisha, Mr. Naveen Patanik thanked ITE Education Services for their support and help in the areas of knowledge, collaboration and international linkages. He termed ITE as a global leader in vocational education, which has made a vital contribution to this field in Singapore. Through this MoU, 100 ITI teachers will be trained at ITE in 2018. The collaboration will also enhance the quality of skilled youth across the state.
Adding further, Mr. Naveen Patanik stated that the state government is working towards developing social and human capital for enhancing the capabilities of people. He hoped that the partnership would fulfill its objectives in the longer run.
As part of this MoU, ITE Education Services will share its experiences in TVET (Technical & Vocational Education and Training). It provides consultancy support to OSDA in improving the quality of vocational training and skill development. As a preliminary step, ITE Education Services will conduct two-week training on ‘Leadership Development’ for 100 leaders of ITI (government-run) institutions across Odisha.
ITE Education Services will also provide TVET consultancy support to OSDA. Through this initiative, Advanced Skill Training Institutes will be formed for advance skilling of youths.
