- Osmania University and National Institute of Nutrition have collaborated to launch M.Sc courses in Sports Sciences.
- Courses in Sports Nutrition, Sports Psychology and Sports Biochemistry will be launched as the part of the MoU.
National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Osmania University to launch three M.Sc courses in Sports Sciences. The new courses will help sports enthusiasts to stay fit and healthy by following a proper diet and food habits. Osmania University is the first institute in India to introduce PG courses in Sports Sciences. Registrar of Osmania University and NIN Director signed the MoU on June 12, 2018.
Sports Science Courses Introduced by Osmania University:
- M.Sc Sports Nutrition
- M.Sc Sports Physiology
- M.Sc Sports Biochemistry

Among the three courses, M.Sc course in Sports Nutrition will be introduced from the academic session 2018-18, while the remaining two courses will be on offer from the next year. These unique courses will be beneficial to sports enthusiasts.
Osmania University will upload the details pertaining to M.Sc Sports Nutrition eligibility criteria and admission process on its official website soon. The varsity is yet to announce the seat matrix and fee structure for the new courses.
Apart from the sports enthusiasts, others with prescribed eligibility criteria can take up these courses. For this year, the varsity may not hold an entrance test for the admission to M.Sc in Sports Nutrition. The admission will be mostly based on UG merit/ percentage.
