Patna University is going to introduce the common eligibility test from the coming session. The eligibility test is to facilitate admissions of the students to the 3-year degree courses in its different colleges under different streams.

This decision was taken by the principals of all the colleges at a meeting that was held under the presidentship of pro-VC Mr. R K Verma on April 8th, 2016. The proposal has to be placed before the academic council which would be approved shortly.

According to the proposal, Patna University would conduct a faculty wise eligibility tests at the CAT pattern or the MAT pattern & the score awarded to the students would be utilized for the admissions in the different institutes. The students who are seeking admissions to arts stream in the B N College, Patna College, Magadh Mahila College or Patna Women's College would take the test meant for arts faculty, but need to apply separately to the institutes where they wish to secure the admissions. The university is set to introduce an entrance test for the admission to the PG courses, beginning in this session.

Also, a final decision in this regard is still to be taken by the academic council.
