The Indian Institute of Management – Calcutta has introduced the Post Graduate Certificate in General Management (PGCGM) course with the aim to enhance the ability of students in the theoretical domain. The course will instill a wide understanding of how management theories can be applied to real-time problems in order to provide optimized solutions.
This program has been designed by combining different academic groups at IIM-Calcutta in order to impart a universal understanding of the management practice. This program was initially launched as a part-time course that was being delivered through the direct-to-device mode.

The new PGCGM provides aspirants the opportunity to study management practices and their real-time application in such a way that the impact on their work schedule is minimal.
Prof Uttam Kumar Sarkar, Dean of New Initiatives and External Affairs, at IIM-Calcutta said that there is a need to provide courses that offer young working professionals an opportunity to be part of a state-of-the-art general management course at one of the most renowned institutions such as IIM-Calcutta as such courses are very few.
Therefore IIM-Calcutta came up with the PGCGM program that will encourage working executives having two to five years of work experience to get the best quality of management education, he added.
