  •  Philippines topped the survey and was the only country who managed to score at the intermediate level whose native language is not English.

While professors all over the world worried about the decline in English language skills among students. However, as per Global English’s Business English Index, Philippines is the only country in the world to score the intermediate level (7.11) followed by countries like Norway (6.54), Estonia (6.45), Slovenia, Australia, Malaysia, India, Singapore, Lithuania among others.

Global English is an English language instruction company in California which works with clients such as General Motors, Cisco and Procter and Gamble, The survey was conducted on around 1 lakh employees in 76 countries and it was concluded that the Philippines topped the survey and was the only country that managed to get the intermediate level score despite the fact that its native language is not English.

Tom Kahl, Global English President stated that it is important for the companies to address English skill gaps of employees and take necessary measures to improve the English proficiency level. According to him, it is very important for the employees to have a good English proficiency level so that they can seamlessly communicate and collaborate with a global organization and this also plays a major role in increasing the finances of the company.

The Philippines has witnessed a rise in a number of foreign applications as well. The country offers various undergraduate and postgraduate medical programmes that are popular for their faculty and quality of education. Along with this its a budget-friendly country for students.
