PJTSAU To Increase Seats for B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture

Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University (PJTSAU) held the 10th Academic council meeting on Friday 3rd May 2019. The meeting was attended by PJTSAU’s Vice-Chancellor, Dr Praveen Rao along with many other officials such as the Registrar of PJTSAU Dr S Sudheer Kumar. The deans of the different faculties at the PJTSAU, as well as many internal and external representatives, had been present at the academic council of PJTSAU.

It was gathered from the Academic Council, sources state, that PJTSAU is planning to incorporate more seats in the B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture course. After the addition of the new setas to the course, the total number of seats will be at 663 seats, which also includes all the seats reserved for the NRI sponsored quota and payment seats. There will be 25 more seats added to the NRI sponsored seats, meanwhile, the payment seats will receive the rest of the 75 seats. The admission to these extra payment seats will be done on the basis of the score obtained by the candidate in the Telangana EAMCET, following the norms stated by the Government.

However, PJTSAU has yet to receive the final approval from the Government. The Varsity has decided to increase the seats under the payment and the NRI sponsored quota for the main reason that, the number of students who wish to pursue the course has been increasing lately, Dr Praveen stated.

Apart from increasing the number of seats in B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture, the council also decided that the PG Programme in Statistics and Mathematics needed to be brought back to the sea of courses that are being offered by the College of Agriculture at Rajendrangar.
