Detailed Paper Analysis of TS EAMCET 2018 for Engineering
The TS EAMCET 2018 for Engineering was on predictable lines and didn’t throw any surprise. Most of the questions in all the 3 sections were direct and just checked candidates' fundamental conceptual knowledge. But as the time allocated was just 3 hours for 160 questions so time management played a very vital role in increasing the attempts and also the accuracy.
For a well prepared student one would have been able to get close to 130+ doable questions, and with an accuracy of 80% would have fetched 115 marks from these 130 questions.
As there was no negative marking so one can attempt all the 160 questions, from remaining 30 questions taking 25% accuracy one could get another 7 to 8 marks, that means a score of 120 is a good score for getting a rank of under 2000 and ensuring a seat in Top Engineering colleges of Telangana.
While getting rank under 500 and getting into TOP Govt Engineering colleges a score of 135+ is required.
One can expect a rank of under 4000 with a score of 100 to 105.
Unlike JEE Mains exam, the questions in Maths, Physics and Chemistry were formula driven and not very difficult to attempt. Except for 15 to 20 questions in the entire paper the remaining 140 questions were from easy to moderate difficulty level, so the talent was to spot these 140 and attempt these rather than wasting time in doing the speed breaker questions and wasting time.
Though the question paper in each of the slot was different, the exam organising committee ensured that the difficulty level of paper in the slot remains almost same.
Majority of the questions in Maths section were from 12th class syllabus, majorly from topics like Algebra, Trigonometry, vector algebra, measures of dispersion, coordinate geometry, probability, calculus.
Anyone who has done good preparation can easily attempt 65+ questions in this section and at an accuracy of 80% can get a score of 55, which is a good score in maths.
In Physics section as there was no negative marking. A student with clear fundamentals had a fair chance of attempting 32 to 34 questions with 85% accuracy and can score 28+ marks.
In Physics section, questions were majorly from Gravitation, Motion, Electrostatic, capacitance, alternating current, semiconductor, current electricity, waves, optics, thermodynamics, oscillations, rotational motion, work, energy, power, mechanical properties, and thermal properties.
Chemistry section is comparatively more lengthy and difficult and the questions were time consuming.
In Chemistry section, majority of questions were from these chapters: S block elements, P block elements, organic chemistry, and chemical equilibrium, state of matter, chemical bonding, molecular structure, atomic structure, and classification of elements, hydrogen and its compounds.
An attempt of 33-35 at an accuracy of 80% is decent enough to get a score of 30+.
One of the simplest ways to score well in an entrance exam is to begin the preparation process at the right time and with the right study material. The case is similar with TS EAMCET 2018, which is scheduled to be conducted from May 2 to May 7, 2018. Like many other competitive exams, the preparation for TS EAMCET has to commence a few months before the exam. Since there is still some time left, we have compiled a few tips and tricks that you may use in the run up to the examination.
Concept is the Key:
Most of the entrance exams aim to test candidates' understanding of the basic concepts of the subjects. Therefore, your focus should be on understanding the key concepts in the beginning of your exam preparation, rather than just rote learning.
Knowing your strong as well as weak points can be of great help when you are preparing for competitive exams. While going through the syllabus of your exam in detail, you can identify which topics you are confident about and which you aren’t. Doing this activity will allow you to decide which topics need more attention and you can therefore plan your study routine around the same.
One of the best ways to go a notch higher in your preparation is practicing questions on a daily basis. By regularly solving questions, your speed and accuracy of attempting the paper will improve . You can also identify tricks of approaching the questions in the right way. You may take help from various books and sample paper available online to practice questions for the exam.
It is important to take short breaks while studying for TS EAMCET 2018. You can study one topic at a time and take a break for a short while. Taking short breaks and power naps can help you relax and release the stress and anxiety out of your mind.
