On the occasion of 350th Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Gobind Singh and to show its respect department of Guru Nanak Sikh Studies, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh is planning to organise a two-day International Seminar and Kavi Darbar between October 27, 2016 and October 28, 2016.
Venue Time: Evening Studies Auditorium, Arts Block 1 | 9 am onwards

The title of the seminar will be-
'Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Contribution to Indian Society and Culture: Multiple Perspectives'
The Chief Guest will be Sardar Surjit Singh Ji Rakhra who is a Minister of Punjab Government holding several portfolios like water supply, sanitation, higher education and languages. Vice-chancellor Panjab University Chandigarh, Professor Arun Kumar Grover, will deliver the inaugural address while Professor Surjit Patar, Padam Shri will deliver the keynote address revealed Professor Jaspal Kaur Kaang, Seminar Director. He is also an eminent scholar of Sikh and Punjabi Studies.

The other luminaries who would address the audience in the inaugural session are -
- Professor Satish K Verma, Former Dean Languages, Punjabi University Patiala
- Professor Kapil Kapoor, former pro-vice chancellor, JNU, New Delhi
Vice Chancellor Punjabi University, Patiala Professor Jaspal Singh, will deliver the presidential address. It will be followed by the Vote of Thanks delivered by Retired Registrar, Panjab University, Col G S Chadha.
A Kavi Darbar will also be held on 27 October at 2.30 pm in the auditorium.
