A total of 230 additional seats have been approved for the MBBS course at four medical colleges in Rajasthan. According to the reports, the National Medical Science Commission has also given approval for the commencement of Srikalyan Government Medical College, Sikar for the academic session 2020-21.
Ajmer and Udaipur Medical Colleges will now have 50 additional seats and 30 more additional seats in Barmed Medical College. Raghu Sharma, Rajasthan Health Minister released an official statement stating that the number of MBBS seats in the state has been increased by 230.
Last year, the MBBS seats in Rajasthan were increased to 650. In the last two years, 800 MBBS seats have increased in the state. In 2018, there were a total of 1,950 MBBS seats in the state, which has now increased to 2,830. Increasing the MBBS seats in Rajasthan will benefit the medical students as they will have an option to pursue within the state itself.
MBBS Admission in Rajasthan for State Quota seats (85%) are conducted by NEET UG Medical and Dental Admission/ Counselling Board and Principal and Controller, SMS Medical College and Hospital, Jaipur. They will conduct admission on the basis of the Medical Council Committee. The counselling dates for the same will be released soon. NEET 2020 AIQ Counselling registration for Round 1 Seat Allotment started from 27th October 2020.
