As per the press release, the Governor of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala P Sathasivam has appointed Dr Sabu Thomas, Professor, The School of Chemical Science as the Vice-chancellor of the Mahatma Gandhi University. The announcement regarding the same was made during the Raj Bhavan press release.
The research committee comprising of many eminent personalities such as the Vice Chancellor Sushma Yadav, Vice Chairperson V K Ramachandran, Chief Secretary Tom Jose (Convenor) and V.K. Ramachandran the Vice Chairman of Kerala State Planning Board (Senate representative) recommended Prof. Sabu Thomas as the next Vice-Chancellor of the Mahatma Gandhi University. After that, a four-year appointment was made by the Governor who is also the university chancellor.
