Samsung India is all set to hire 1,000 graduates from top engineering colleges across the country this year. The firm will recruit 300 students from IITs and more students from Manipal University, BITS Pilani and DTU.
Samsung India is aiming to hire 1,000 graduates from popular engineering colleges across the country in 2018. According to sources, 300 graduates will be recruited from Indian Institutes of Technology. A majority of these engineering graduates are expected to be recruited for new-age domains such as natural language processing, biometrics, Machine Learning (ML), Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), augmented reality and 5G networks.
Apart from recruiting engineering graduates from IITs, Samsung India will also hire students from Delhi College of Engineering, Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Manipal Institute of Technology and BITS Pilani.
An official associated with Samsung India revealed that the South Korean company is highly focusing on Research and Development in India. The three R & D centres of Samsung, located in Delhi, Bangalore and Noida are working on latest technologies. Globally, Samsung has a total number of 32 R & D centres. Samsung India’s R & D centres are not only focusing on innovation but also contribute to global products, he highlighted.

According to recent data published by Indeed, Flipkart, ShopClues, Paytm and Snapdeal are the four unicorns, which are making up around 90% of all job postings. A unicorn is often termed as a start-up company, which is valued at more than a billion dollars, specifically in technology or software sector.
In 2016, Samsung India hired over 800 engineering graduates for its R & D facilities in India. Among them, 300 engineering graduates were from IITs.

The Bangalore R & D centre of Samsung India has expertise in areas like IoT, ML and AI. On the other hand, the Noida centre plays a vital role in the development of data security, multimedia, mobile software and biometrics.
