The Corporate Interface Team (CIT) of SIBM Pune organised the Senate 2020 event focusing on 'Recasting the Indian Economy: The Millenial Effect'. The event was attended by industry stalwarts and thought leaders, who provided key insights on the changing Indian consumer and economy.

Senate 2020 Organised at IIBM Pune: Focus on 'Recasting the Indian Economy: The Millennial Effect'

'Senate 2020', the annual flagship management conclave of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Pune, was organised in the SIU Auditorium at SIBM Lavale campus in Pune. The two-day event, conducted on 31 January and 1 February 2020, was conducted by the Corporate Interface Team (CIT) of SIBM, Pune and focused on 'Recasting the Indian Economy: The Millenial Effect'. Senate 2020 is an initiative of SIBM Pune and it aims to inspire students to become the business leaders of tomorrow by introducing them to corporate leaders. Divyansh Singh, the Coordinator of CIT, said that the team's aim is to bring together a diverse band of thought leaders who can help the students get acquainted with the key factors driving change and also provide guidance on how to prepare for the future.

Some of the most prominent personalities in the field of business and management participated in the event. The discussions and speeches were focused on understanding how industries identified and responded to the evolving millennial trends through the use of disruptive business strategies. SIBM students got to hear from business stalwarts coming from organisations such as L&T Financial Services, Sony Pictures Networks, McKinsey & Company etc. The speakers on the first day of the event were Mr. Abhinandan, Solutions Leader at McKinsey & Company, Mr. Dinanath Dubhashi, Managing Director and CEO at L&T Finance Holdings Ltd., and Mr. Ashwin Sanghi, a leading Indian writer known for books such as Chanakya's Chant and Krishna Key.

The second day of Senate 2020 started with a keynote speech delivered by Vikas Choudhury, President at Reliance Jio, and Mr. Sunit Mukherjee, Associate Director at Mondelex International. A panel discussion on 'Trends redefining the consumption story in the Indian Context' concluded the second day of the event. Moderated by Prodipto Roy, Founding Partner at Crimson Consulting, and Prof. Sandeep Bhattacharya, Head of Corporate Relations at SIBM Pune, the discussion saw the involvement of esteemed panellists such as Mr. Nitish Sharma, Head of Programming at Sony Pictures Network India, Mr. Amit Verma, Director and Head of Growth Marketing at Zoomcar, Mr. Janak Malkani, Executive Director at CBRE, Mr. Ankur Tiwari, AVP - Growth & Marketing at UrbanClap.

Ramakrishnan Raman, the Director of SIBM Pune, elaborated on the institute's commitment towards providing holistic management education and bridging the industry-academia gap by providing students with an exposure to the corporate world through events like Senate 2020.
