At the fifth convocation celebration of the Shiv Nadar University, 580 students were conferred with the degrees. Shiv Nadar Chancellor has awarded honorary doctorates to four distinguished individuals, namely Dr. Ashok Seth, Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, a world-renowned cardiologist, and Fortis Escorts Heart Institute Chairman.
During Shiv Nadar University convocation ceremony more than 580 students have graduated which includes 20 doctoral graduates. Aside from this, the university has also received many awards in different fields of engineering, natural sciences, the humanities, social sciences, arts, and management. As for the guest of the honor, the university has invited former CEO of Vodafone, Sir Arun Sarin KBE and current Cisco Board Member, Accenture and Charles Schwab & Silicon Valley Investor, And Dr. Isher Ahluwalia, Padma Bhushan, distinguished economist, & Chairperson, Board of Governors, Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), accompanied the Convocation and addressed the meeting.

Dr. Rupamanjari Ghosh, the Vice Chancellor of Shiv Nadar University said that this is a proud moment for their University where the students of the fifth batch of their university were on their way to joining some of the best organization and institution in the world. He was also privileged to have people from the four principal fields of life, who received honorary doctorates for their contributions to society in general. He also said that the guests who were present today are an inspiration for the whole community of Shiv Nadar University.
At the convocation, Dr. Ghosh also said that the mission of the University, conceived by the Founder, was to develop and educate the path-shapers of tomorrow who will be able to meet the requests of the 21st century. The Shiv Nadar University weigh on learning by doing and makes the learning curiosity-driven and enjoyable.
