The State Government of Assam has started the procedure for holding the Common Entrance Test (CEE) for admission into the MBBS and BDS courses in the state of Assam. The centre has sent its notification to the state governments on May 25. Source in the Education Department of the state said, “The State Government will now be holding the examination in the last week of June or first week of July. The process for the same has been started after the State Government received the Centre’s notification to that effect on May 25.”

The AIPMT-2016/NEET- I was conducted on 1 st May, 2016. NEET-II will be conducted on Sunday, the 24 th July, 2016. The judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and Ordinances is uploaded on NEET website.

As directed by the Government of Assam, keeping in view the order passed by Honourable Supreme Court of India in WP(C) No. 261 of 2016 dated 28-04-2016, the Cell for Conduction of CEE 2016 had decided to temporarily suspend the issuance of the Admit Cards of CEE 2016.

There was a hold on the CEE for MBBS put by the State Government and BDS courses scheduled for May 14 and 15 with regards to the Supreme Court’s decision to conduct a nation-wide common-entrance test, the National Eligibility Entrance test (NEET).

However, the apex court later agreed to allow the States to conduct their respective entrance tests for the tear 2016 keeping in view the state’s inability to implement the directive within the current year.
