From next year, Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2019) will be held for Statistics paper as well. Earlier it was conducted in only 23 subjects, but from next year it will also include the statistics paper.

Till now, the GATE exam was held in 23 subjects such as Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Aerospace Engineering among others.
GATE 2019 will be organised by IIT Madras on 2nd, 3rd, 9th and 10th February 2019. The exam is conducted in online mode and to answer the numerical answers, candidates will use the virtual keypad while the rest of the questions will be multiple choice question type. Also, candidates can appear only in one subject out of the 24 listed in the notification.

According to the IIT Madras notification regarding the exam, students will not be allowed to carry physical calculators, wrist watches, digital watches, mobile phones inside the examination centre and any candidate found carrying the same will be disqualified.

Application Fees GATE 2019:
The GATE 2019 fee without late charges is Rs. 750 for women and SC/ST/PwD candidates whereas for others candidates it is Rs.1,500. Candidates also have an option to apply till October 1 by paying Rs.1,250 for women, SC/ST/PwD candidates and for others, it is Rs.2,000.
