"We have have started an initiative that aims at promoting cleanliness. We plan to tell students that cleaning campus is "cool" and hence, we are going to different streets and are uploading pictures and videos of the team in action, said Samiul Hoque Chowdhury, a Hindu College student. "We are using Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for the purpose with the hashtags #cleanupdu, cleanup and cleaningiscool," he further added.
Arnav Vats, an economics student who is part of the campaign said, "We contributed to get gloves, masks, and garbage bags for volunteers".
The week-long cleaning drive started Wednesday with 250 volunteers turning up with brooms and dustbins to clean the North Campus.
