Students of Nova College Designed Solar Car

Final year Mechanical engineering students of Nova College of Engineering designed a Solar Car as part of their project work. On this occasion, students made a trial of their solar car on 17-May-2016 at town center. HOD of Mechanical Department, Prof. Jitendra accompanied the students in the train run. People surrounded the car and asked the details and working condition of the car.

Prof. Jitendra has given the details of the car. He said, “Four students of the mechanical department designed this car at a cost of Rs. 50,000. The car runs at 40 kms/ hour. The car doesn’t have gear system. It has a switch which enables the car move forward and reverse. The car has an accelerator. The car completely runs on solar energy. The college management supported the project financially. It took two months to complete the project”. He appreciated the students for their dedicated hard work. The residents of town appreciated the efforts of students.

The college management congratulated the students for their efforts and assured that the project will be taken for leading car manufacturing companies. The students of the college are good at projects. The college gives scope for research activities and experiments. Students have brought various laurels to the college by participating in various science expos.
