In order to provide proper coaching to meritorious students who cannot afford coaching for engineering or medical exams, K Nanda Kumar, Collector of Ramanathapuram had introduced a Super 30 like programme in Tamil Nadu, which was adopted by Trichy in 2013 to be eligible to join the free coaching programme, students across the state are selected on the basis of their midterm and quarterly examinations. This is good news for students from weaker backgrounds who have performed well in their Class 10 Board exams and aim to crack competitive exams.
The state administration has started selecting students for this programme from various state government schools. The shortlisted students will be provided residential coaching classes until their Class 12 Board exams at the Syed Murtaza School in Trichy. The aim will be to help these students excel and become state toppers. These students will be provided with training after school hours to help them clear competitive entrance engineering and medical entrance exams.
The expenditure of the programme is managed by the District administration. 15 boys and 15 girls will be selected for the programme and will be accommodated in hostels for 56 days. They will be provided special classes basis which they will be appearing for seven examinations in each subject along with a half portion test twice. C Velusamii, Headmaster of Syed Murtaza School will be coordinating this programme.
15 excellent teachers will be selected from schools across the district to teach the students under this programme. 12-hour long sessions will be conducted from 7 am to 7 pm where the students will be taught different subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
