Tata Motors and IIT Varanasi Sign Pact to Introduce Innovative Education & Research Programmes

India’s third-largest carmaker – Tata Motors and Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi have collaborated to launch different innovative programmes in education and research. The primary aim of the collaboration is to bridge the gap between academic excellence and business expertise.

Through this significant technological collaboration, IIT Varanasi and Tata Motors will work in the areas of mutual interest and will play a vital role in catering the future engineering needs of the academia and industry. An initial pact (MoU) or agreement has been signed between Tata Motors and IIT Varanasi for a period of five years. Through this pact, both the organisations will take up collaborative R & D projects for developing new technologies in different domains of engineering.

Through this Memorandum of Understanding, Tata Motors is aspiring for a multi-dimensional collaboration with IIT Varanasi. The collaboration will help Tata Motors to retain its competitive edge and develop next-gen engineering skills within the company as well as academic partners. The rapid changes in technologies and market conditions will produce talented, competent and innovative workforce, said by Chief HR Officer of Tata Motors.

The collaboration will support Tata Motors to create industry ready resources apart from supporting Start-up India, Skill India and Make in India programmes. The company will also focus on providing advanced training to students in specific areas. The joint research programmes will not only provide necessary exposure and training to students of IIT Varanasi but also help in developing future products of Tata Motors.
