INR 5 Crore Received by IIT-BHU Foundation for School of Decision Sciences & Engineering

IIT BHU; a non-profit associated with the alumni of the institute based in the United States has received a donation of INR 5 Crores from alumni, Mr. Naresh C Jain, the founder of Diamond Express Car Wash, for establishing a school of Decision Sciences and Engineering. He is a graduate of the institute from the batch of 1967.  

The new school will be named Naresh C Jain School of Decision Sciences and Engineering. Indian Institute of Technology - Banaras Hindu University (IIT- BHU) mentioned that the institute aims to train the technical manpower and beyond in all the conditions of the process and people management by hiring technical and motivated faculties with enabling course curriculum that shall provide layered learning experiences to the students. The school will emphasize practical learning and applied research providing the students with Ph.D. and master's programs in Decision Sciences and Engineering.

The focus has been put on the research areas like- Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Systems management and Manufacturing Systems engineering, and Agribusiness management. Mr. Jain humbly said that he feels indebted to the taxpayers who have paid his education expenses. For this reason, he feels indebted to the fact and donated INR 5 Crores to his home institute. He feels confident that one day along with the team, he will be a successful global leader in producing proficient decision-makers with professional integrity and values contributing to the progress of society.

Arun Tripathi, president of IIT BHU added that Mr. Jain had always been a supporter of the institution sending funds to the students in need via western unions who belong from economically weaker families. He has been a loyal and supportive alumnus to bind the threads of the foundation altogether. His support and dedicative loyalty for his alma mater, a true believer in the mission and all the steps that he shall take will benefit the nation’s leader. The whole institution showed extreme gratitude to its loyal and supportive alumni.
