Telangana Inter Results Row: High Court Orders Revaluation of Answer Sheets of 3 Lakh Students

On April 23, 2019, the High Court of Telangana ordered Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education to take up revaluation of answer sheets of all failed students. The court further directed the intermediate board to file response on how much time will it take to complete the revaluation process. April 29, 2019, is the deadline for the intermediate board to file the response on the same.

Over the last week, parents and students have been visiting the Board of Intermediate Education seeking justice. As the board failed to address the issue, students and parents resorted to protest. In order to help students, an NGO has filed a petition in Telangana High Court seeking justice for 3 lakh students who failed in Telangana intermediate exams despite good performance.

On the other hand, the Government of Telangana has appointed a three-member committee to figure out the lapses and irregularities in the evaluation process and data uploading. The committee will submit its report in three days.

Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) has been facing extreme protest and opposition from students and parents for errors in the evaluation of Telangana intermediate answer sheets. On the other hand, there were numerous errors in the Inter results of Telangana due to faulty uploading of data by the officials. The board has outsourced the responsibility of uploading Inter results to a private firm this year. After the announcement of Telangana inter results 2019 on April 18, many second-year inter students were shocked of being failed in exams despite 80-90% marks in the first year.
