The Sultanate Of Oman to Offer Scholarship to Indian Students

Indian students can avail scholarships that have been announced by the Sultanate of Oman for pursuing undergraduate courses in Oman. The MHRD has started inviting application forms for them.

The Sultanate Of Oman to Offer Scholarship to Indian Students

The Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India has started inviting applications for Omani Scholarship for various undergraduate courses. Scholarships will be provided by the Sultanate of Oman to Indian students for the academic session of 2019-2020 under the Omani Programme for Cultural and Scientific Cooperation.

The Omani scholarships are for several undergraduate courses and include B.A., B.Com, B.Sc, B.Tech, and B.E. programmes but it does not cover MBBS. Two slots of scholarships are available for the Indian students who have a non-resident status and are presently residing in India.

The scholarships given by the Sultanate of Oman will cover a return air ticket, the tuition fee, and a monthly allowance of RO 200 for each student in case they are not provided with accommodation from the educational institution. If the scholarship holders are given accommodation by the educational institute, they will be entitled to receive RO 140 as a monthly allowance.

The proforma for the application form is available at the website of the MHRD and can be downloaded from there. It is essential for the students to fill the scholarship form in English and Arabic. The application form has to be attached with the cover letter and it must reach the Ministry latest by 30th June 2019, Sunday.

Documents Required for Omani Scholarships

The list of documents that have to be enclosed with the application form and a cover letter by the students is given below.

  • Mark sheet of class 10th
  • Mark sheet of class 12th
  • Copies of the pass certificates of class 10th and 12th or their equivalent certificates
  • A photocopy of the equivalency certificate that is issued by the Ministry of Education. This majorly applies to the certificates that are issued abroad.
  • A medical certificate to be presented as a proof of the good health of the candidate and for confirming that he/she is not suffering from any infectious and/or chronic disease.
  • A photocopy of the (valid) passport of the student

Candidates will be shortlisted for the scholarship on the basis of marks secured by them in class 10th and 12th. Total three students will be nominated for the scholarship. The selection of the nominated candidates will be finally done by the Sultanate of Oman.
